Welcome to Love Midland Scouts — a practical youth development concept built around one simple belief:
Every young person deserves the opportunity to learn, participate, contribute and discover what they are capable of.
We believe in learning by doing.
⸻
THE UNIVERSITY OF LIFE STARTS HERE
School is important, but life teaches us too.
Love Midland Scouts brings practical learning into everyday life through activities, challenges, volunteering, community projects, outdoor experiences, digital skills and enterprise.
Young people can learn how to:
- Communicate confidently
- Work as part of a team
- Look after themselves and others
- Understand money and responsibility
- Develop digital skills
- Explore careers and enterprise
- Appreciate nature
- Volunteer in their community
- Make healthier choices
- Ask for help when they need it
Learn it. Try it. Improve it. Share it.

ABOUT
LEARNING BY DOING
Not every young person learns in the same way.
Some learn by reading.
Some learn by listening.
Some learn by making.
Some learn by moving.
Some learn by helping others.
Love Midland Scouts creates opportunities for practical learning alongside appropriate education and youth activities.
We want young people to discover their strengths rather than being defined by their weaknesses.
You do not have to be the best.
You just have to be willing to learn.
⸻

POWER OF AN HOUR
YOUR TIME HAS VALUE
Love Midland Scouts connects with the wider Power of an Hour idea.
One hour can be used to learn.
One hour can be used to teach.
One hour can be used to volunteer.
One hour can be used to help somebody else.
One hour.
One conversation.
One next step.
Young people can learn that their time, skills and contribution have value.
⸻
HEALTHY CHOICES
QUIT NICOTINE 4 LIFE
Love Midland Scouts can also provide age-appropriate health education around smoking, vaping and nicotine.
Quit Nicotine 4 Life
The message is simple:
Education before addiction.
Knowledge before pressure.
Support before judgement.
Young people can learn about nicotine, understand why addiction can be difficult to break, recognise influences and know where to seek appropriate help.
Quit Nicotine 4 Life is an education and prevention concept, not a replacement for professional smoking-cessation or medical services.
⸻
THE UNIVERSITY OF LIFE
PRACTICAL EDUCATION FOR REAL LIFE
Love Midland Scouts can form part of the wider University of Life / Turn Key Free Uni vision.
Education does not end when the school day finishes.
Life itself can become a classroom.
Learn how to communicate.
Learn how to manage money.
Learn how to use technology.
Learn how to work with people.
Learn how to build confidence.
Learn how to solve problems.
Learn how to look after your environment.
Learn how to turn an idea into action.
Knowledge is power.
⸻
THE NATURAL GREEN
LEARN. GROW. PROTECT.
Young people can develop a practical relationship with nature through:
Gardening
Tree planting
Nature walks
Recycling
Growing food
Repair and reuse
Local conservation
Environmental projects
The Natural Green message is simple:
Respect nature.
Protect your place.
Build a better future.
⸻
COMMUNITY
LOVE WHERE YOU LIVE
Love Midland Scouts is about more than activities.
It is about belonging.
Young people can take part in projects that improve their local communities and learn that small actions can make a difference.
A clean street.
